Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) will offer a specimen preparation and data collection workshop via Zoom webinar between March 3-4, 2021 from 8:00 AM to approximately 1:00 PM (PST) daily. Phenix User Workshop

The Phenix developers will be holding an online Phenix User Workshop on the 15th and 16th of September at 8am-12pm PDT. These times will work best for researchers in North and South America, Europe and Africa. We plan to hold a future workshop at a time better suited to researchers in Asia and Australasia.
The format of the workshop will be demos of the use of Phenix programs combined with slides to explain the theory. We expect an interactive meeting where attendees can ask questions for the Phenix team to answer.
The workshop will cover aspects of crystallography and cryo-EM in Phenix, with the final emphasis based on the applicants? research interests. To apply, send email to workshops@phenix-online.org with a short paragraph about your interests. We will make every effort to accommodate all applicants, but may need to defer some requests to a future workshop if demand is high. We are hoping this workshop will be a success, in which case we plan to host more in the future.

Crete 2020 - 1st International CryoEM Symposium/Workshop to be held at the University of Crete
 A series of morning lectures will cover fundamental aspects of cryoEM, SPA, tomography, image processing and molecular modelling. Afternoon hands-on sessions will provide practical experience on single particle analysis and sub-tomogram averaging with special emphasis on evaluation of results and model building into high and low resolution cryo-EM maps. Trainees will work together with instructors and have an in-depth hands-on opportunity to learn how to use the software packages SPHIRE (single particle), pyTOM (subtomogram averaging) and the modelling packages PHENIX, COOT, REFMAC (modelling and refinement into cryoEM maps) and several other tools.
 On Day 1 we will additionally hold a symposium. Our invited speakers will highlight recent developments in the field and showcase outstanding recent applications. Participants will have the opportunity to present their own work in a poster session and five poster presenters will be selected for a short talk.

Registration deadlines for the event are 30.04 (early bird) and 07.06 (final deadline). The registration fees include single room accommodation, breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, local transport and some social events (travel has to be arranged separately).

The situation will be evaluated few months before the event and if necessary (hopefully not) the course will be postponed; slots will be reserved for successfully registered participants.

Cryo-EM Workshop 2020. 3rd annual summer workshop

In Ann Arbor, MI
This hands-on workshop is targeted to members of the cryo-EM community who
are learning how to process data. To this end, we have designed this
workshop to help participants who will bring their own data and have begun
data analysis. Each participant will be given a dedicated machine on Amazon
Web Services where they will be able to run RELION, cisTEM, cryoSPARC, and
Phenix. We are excited that developers and expert users of cryo-EM software
programs will be present to go through basic and advanced analysis for
cryo-EM structure determination, and are accessible for asking questions
during the workshop.
