Based on numerous requests for a beginner-friendly program, we have
redesigned the course to make it accessible to a broader audience.

The workshop is now tailored for early-stage biology aspirants who are
interested in learning the fundamentals of structural biology, with a
primary focus on protein structure prediction and Cryo-EM data analysis.

Our goal is to create an easy entry point for students, researchers, and
biotech enthusiasts who want to begin their journey into structural biology
and Cryo-EM.

The Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) International Capacity Building Workshop on Mineral and Material Sciences for Space Exploration is a two-week intensive scientific training program organized by the University of Nairobi, in collaboration with international partners.

The workshop brings together leading international scientists and early-career researchers to explore the role of minerals and materials in understanding planetary formation, space missions, and the origins of life.

This year's workshop will focus on how to collect and analyze (big) data in transmission electron diffraction in a more automatic way than is done traditionally. New possibilities for automation and multidimensional data acquisition, collection routines, better cameras/detectors, and open-source data post-processing have developed over the last years. In this three days workshop, invited experts and skilled educators in the field will address the essentials and recent developments through lectures and hands-on practical computer sessions. The workshop will cover several topics connected to digital TEM including three-dimensional electron diffraction (3D ED) and structure analysis to four-dimensional scanning techniques (4D-STEM, scanning precession ED (SPED) and differential phase contrast (DPC)). You will learn how to use various open-source scientific Python packages to acquire diffraction data (instamatic and PyJEM) and how to analyze these multidimensional data sets (Jana/PETS2 and pyxem/HyperSpy).

The Polish Crystallographic Meeting, Scientific Workshop and Session of the Young Crystallographers Sections of PCrA will be held at the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, ul. Okolna 2 in Wroclaw, Poland.

The Scientific Session of the Young Crystallographers Section of PCrA is a forum for exchanging experiences addressed primarily to students, PhD students and young doctors (maximum 5 years after defense).

The topics of the Meeting include basic and applied research on the ideal and real structure of crystals carried out with the use of X-ray radiation obtained both with traditional methods and in synchrotrons, research with the use of neutrons and electrons, problems of symmetry, phase transformations and crystal growth, new research and computational methods and all other aspects of crystallography. The conference is an annual meeting place and a forum for exchanging ideas of all Polish crystallographers.

The OLEX2 A2Z workshop welcomes users of all experience levels â€" from curious beginners to seasoned crystallographers. Over three intensive and hands-on days, we’ll explore the full spectrum of OLEX2’s capabilities, starting from the essentials and advancing toward expert-level techniques.

We begin by guiding you through the installation process and integrating compatible crystallographic software into the OLEX2 interface. You’ll learn how to configure your system to unlock the full potential of OLEX2 â€" no hidden features left behind.

Once your setup is complete, we’ll dive into a comprehensive walkthrough of the interface: tab by tab, function by function, revealing the program’s underlying logic and design philosophy. Only when your environment is ready and the interface feels intuitive will we begin the real journey.

First through popular topics, and through carefully selected examples â€" starting simple and building in complexity â€" we’ll demonstrate how OLEX2 empowers you to solve structures, tackle challenging refinements, and master the most commonly used commands. And because real science rarely fits into neat boxes, a dedicated portion of the workshop will focus on the difficult cases you bring with you.

By the end, you’ll not only understand how OLEX2 works â€" you’ll see how transformative it can be in the hands of a true expert.
