Welcome to the 2nd Young Crystallographers Meeting, which will take place from December 2nd to 5th, 2025 in Rennes at the Institut des sciences chimiques de Rennes. This scientific event was planned by popular demand as a follow up of the YCM1, which happened in Strasbourg in 2023.
This meeting is intended for young crystallographers (researchers, doctoral students, post-doctoral students, and engineers) from all sciences combined and all European countries.
The multidisciplinary character of crystallography will be promoted during this event with sessions mixing talks from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mineralogy and Heritage Science fields.
The objectives of the YCM2 are to gather young crystallographers in a multidisciplinary and international context, to create opportunities for scientific exchange, and to provide networking opportunities with industry with a specific focus on the training and career development of the young scientist participants.
On behalf of the Asian Crystallographic Association (AsCA), the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), and the International Program Committee (IPC), we are pleased to announce the 19th Conference of AsCA (AsCA 2025) in Taipei, Taiwan, co-hosted by Taiwan and Japan. The conference will take place at the Taipei International Conference Center (TICC) on December 1–5, 2025, jointly with the Symposium on Crystallography of Taiwan and the Crystallographic Society of Japan (CrSJ) Meeting.
AsCA, a regional associate of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr), is the largest association in the field of structural science within the Asia-Oceania region. This conference, held when there is no IUCr congress, gathers participants not only from Asia and Oceania but also from other regions to share the latest research and advancements. It serves as a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and strengthening international crystallographic networks among global researchers.
The LOC, formed by the Taiwan and Japan crystallographic societies, and the IPC, composed of international representatives of six major area including biology, physics, chemistry, materials science, and database/data science, are arranging a rich program featuring plenary lectures, keynotes, invited talks, oral and poster presentations, and microsymposia on hot-topic subjects. Additionally, there will be multiple workshops in Taiwan and Japan, commercial exhibitions, council meetings, local association meetings, a half-day synchrotron tour at NSRRC, and social events, including a welcome reception, a young scientist mixer, and a conference dinner.
Taiwan is renowned for its safety, vibrant high-tech industry, diverse cuisine, and natural beauty. Taipei, with its blend of tradition and modernity, offers iconic landmarks like Taipei 101 and night markets, all conveniently close to the conference venue TICC, ensuring a memorable experience.

The Latin American Powder Diffraction Conference (LAPDiC) will be an event in Latin America entirely dedicated to all aspects of the analysis of polycrystalline materials using diffraction methods (X-rays, neutrons, and electrons). Inspired by the successful European Powder Diffraction Conference (EPDIC ), LAPDiC aims to become an itinerary conference for researchers in the field across Latin America and beyond, serving as an ideal platform for presenting and disseminating new developments in powder diffraction instrumentation, analysis techniques, and scientific applications.
LAPDiC will bring together experts from universities, research institutes, and industry partners to share their knowledge, discuss current trends, and tackle challenges in powder diffraction. The event will provide a unique opportunity for professionals in the region to network, foster collaborations, and build a more robust scientific community.
