Introducing the new Cryo-Electron Microscopy Platform for Structural Biology
The aim of this symposium is to promote the exciting opportunities in
structural biology opened by the advances in cryo-electron microscopy
and by the integration of structural biology approaches at multi-scale
level.
This symposium will celebrate the establishment of a new cryo-EM
platform at the EPN campus. The platform will offer access to a Titan
Krios microscope, which will operate as a user facility at the ESRF and
will reinforce the ongoing EM activity at the IBS and at the EMBL. The
new facility will be open to the international ESRF user community based on
peer-review of scientific merit and technical feasibility of their
projects. Scientists from ESRF, IBS and EMBL will support user
operation.
The symposium will bring together leading experts, junior researchers
and representatives of industrial partners to present and discuss the
latest developments and the future trends in cryo-EM as well as their
applications in addressing biological challenges.
We encourage participants to present their scientific results in a
poster session, with the possibility of being selected for a short talk.
Due to limited capacity (maximum of 80 external participants), early
registration is encouraged.

eBIC and CCP-EM are proud to announce the inaugural symposium of eBIC, the UK national cryoEM centre at Diamond Light Source, and the third CCP-EM Spring Symposium. This three day conference will be held at the Diamond/RAL Campus, Harwell, Oxfordshire.
The eBIC opening symposium will be on the first day, highlighting the advances of cryoEM and feature presentations with an emphasis on emerging and challenging technologies, followed by CCP-EM Spring Symposium featuring of state-of-the-art presentations related to cryo-EM methods and applications. A Century of Powder Diffraction Mini-symposium

Powder diffraction was developed independently in 1916 by Peter Debye and Paul Scherrer in Germany and Albert Hull in the U.S. To commemorate this 100th anniversary, a half-day symposium on historical developments in powder diffraction as well as contemporary APS work was held on November 11, 2016.
