Combing precise chemical information from mass spectrometry (MS) with high resolution imaging methods like electron microscopy (cryoEM, TEM) or scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM) pushes the frontiers and scope of chemical and structural analysis to atomic resolution of individual complex molecules. Â

This workshop meeting brings together an emerging community of scientists from analytical, preparative, and native mass spectrometry, molecular electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy to explore the possibilities and challenges of the novel approaches at the frontier of native mass spectrometry and single molecule imaging.

The Symmetries in Graphs, Maps, and Polytopes Workshop provides researchers interested in symmetries of discrete objects and structures opportunities to meet, share results, discuss open problems, and start new collaborations. The first SIGMAP workshop was organized by Stephen Wilson in 1998 in Flagstaff, Arizona, and has been held every four years since then. In 2022 we will be hosting the seventh iteration of this conference at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from July 10-16.

Thanks to support from the National Science Foundation, we’ll be able to provide a limited number of domestic participants with support for their travel and participation in the workshop. Priority for the funding will be given to mathematicians from under-represented groups and early career mathematicians.Â

The conference aims to provide a forum to highlight state of the art developments in computational cryoEM and related themes as well as showcasing outstanding recent biological applications. The 7th European Conference on Crystal Growth (ECCG7) is an international scientific event that goes beyond European borders. The organizers believe that ECCG7 will have a major impact on the condensed matter physics, chemistry and biological crystallization communities and for materials science researchers, young scientists and PhD students, all being involved in the field of phase formation and crystal growth. ECCG7 follows the 3rd European School on Crystal Growth (ESCG3).

Following the tradition of quadri-annual general meetings of the International Mineralogical Association (IMA) organised by national societies, the French Society for Mineralogy and Crystallography will host the 23rd General Meeting of the IMA in Lyon, France, during 18â€"22 July 2022.

2022 is the year to celebrate mineralogy. It marks the bicentennial of the death of René Just Haüy (born 1743), the father of modern mineralogy and crystallography. Two centuries ago is also when Haüy’s Traité de mineralogy and Traité de cristallographie were published.

Back to the present day, the last two main Mars exploration programmes, Mars2020 and Huoxing 1, will have had just enough time for sample return and post-processing. With the return of Hayabusa 2, for the first time, fragments of a primitive carbonaceous asteroid will be analysed.

The meeting will bring together all the new facets of modern mineralogy; mineralogy as we know it will meet exploratory planetology, all to celebrate two centuries of mineralogy.
