This is the first meeting within the International Conference Series
“Virtual Human â€" Imaging Across Scales” co-organized by scientists from
Russia, Germany, China, and USA

Our speakers will focus on cutting-edge problems of modern integrative
structural biology of biomembranes and membrane proteins, theoretical
biophysics of membrane systems and computer modelling. The conference will
highlight the role of biomembranes in aging and age-related diseases such
as cancer, neurodegenerative (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s) and cardiovascular
diseases.

The talks will be given by world-leading scientists from Russia, USA,
Germany, France, the Netherlands, China, Spain, Italy, Sweden and
Switzerland.

The event will be divided in two blocks. The first block will be a specialised Diffraction on Energy Materials School

This School will be based on selected lectures together with intensive hands-on sessions using advanced tools for diffraction data treatment either implemented in Rietveld refinement programs, such as FullProf, or available as independent refinement programs such as FAULTS (also included in the FullProf suite).

The second block will be a meeting concerned with Diffraction on Energy Materials. This meeting will be organized as a parallel event of the ILL-ESS User Meeting which will take place at the Congress Center WTC (Grenoble). The participants can share their ideas in the framework of the proposed programme.

This conference follows a successful one held in 2016 in Cameroon and
aims at bringing together African crystallographers, mineralogists,
structural scientists and biologists to increase awareness of
crystallography and improve the educational opportunities for African
researchers and students of all levels. The variety of activities will
provide opportunities to engage with the scientific community, from
expert crystallographers to young researchers and students of all ages,
as well as government representatives and policy-makers in Ghana. Other
African Scientists from North, Egypt, to the South, South Africa using,
practicing and/or developing crystallographic methods (X-ray, neutrons,
electron diffraction, NMR and other spectroscopies, solid state
calculations) will also meet to build a network of African academics,
scientists and engineers which should result in the launch of the
African Crystallography Association. Among the 300 expected attendees,
recognized scientists from all over the world will also be invited and
will attend the meeting. This conference will also be specially graced
by Professor Sir Tom Blundell, the 2013 Nobel Prize laureate in
Chemistry.

The conference brings together users and scientists of Large Facilities for Neutron scattering, Synchrotron Radiation and Ion Beam Facilities, and it offers a unique possibility to exchange ideas across research areas and methods.

The 2018 Atomic and Molecular Interactions Group (AMIG) summer meeting will take place on the 21st and the 22nd of June at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University College London; AMIG 2018 aims to bring together scientists, particularly from the UK and Ireland, working on interactions involving electrons, photons, ions, atoms, molecules and more, with an emphasis on young researchers.

Postgraduate students and postdoctoral research associates are particularly encouraged to apply. The format of the meeting consists of four sessions, each with an invited talk followed by oral presentations, and a poster session.

The Southeast Asia Conference on Crystal Engineering (SEACCE) aims to bring researchers, established and emerging, from ASEAN countries along with those from India and China, to share recent results and insights in the broad field of Crystal Engineering, involving fundamentals and applications in coordination polymers, MOF's, co-crystal technology.

Following the successful first meeting held in Colombo in 2016, Sunway University, Malaysia, will host the 2^nd South East Asian Conference on Crystal Engineering (SEACCE-2).

Immediately after the conference, there will be a Rigaku/Oxford Diffraction-sponsored workshop in single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction techniques as well as a workshop in Hirshfeld Surface Analysis.

International Conference on Applications of Quasielastic Neutron Scattering â€" QENS2018 aims to cover the broad scientific activities in the investigation of material dynamics, in the domain of both space and time, using quasi-elastic neutron scattering with emphases on new applications in relevant emerging industrial areas.Â

The 8th Workshop on Inelastic Neutron Spectrometers â€" WINS2018 will cover innovative aspects of the instrument design as well as reports on progress of new spectrometer projects, following the theme of “New idea, New concept, New design, New instrumentation for New sciences”.Â

UXSS is an annual event jointly organized by the Stanford PULSE
Institute at SLAC and the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL)
at DESY. UXSS is intended to introduce students and postdocs to the
latest science that is enabled by novel X-ray Free Electron Lasers. The
program will be highly interdisciplinary, with topics ranging from
materials physics to structural biology. The list of confirmed speakers
can be found below. There will also be a coursework exercise involving
a mock proposal for the LCLS, with the help of experienced mentors.

 Registration is open! Early registration will continue until April 30,
and registration will close on June 4. Limited travel scholarships are
available in the amounts of $500 (domestic) or $1000 (foreign) to help
cover the cost of travel and lodging. Students will have the
opportunity to apply for travel scholarships upon registration until
April 20.
