Microscopy characterisation of organic-inorganic interfaces - 2019

The meeting is dedicated to microscopy of materials comprised of both organic and inorganic constituents in close proximity and is aimed at bringing together experts from both the life science and materials science communities to address this challenging and increasingly important topic. Different approaches such as the application of correlative microscopy solutions, low-voltage and cryogenic electron microscopy techniques, methods for fast acquisition and many more are discussed during the meeting in the context of studying hybrid materials

2019 marks a special milestone for CCP4 as it is will be 40 years since the project was set up, we hope you will join us in Nottingham to celebrate the occasion. The meeting will include a Molecular Replacement clinic session where help and advice on delegates MR problems will be available from MR program and pipeline developers.
 Key Dates:

- Â Standard Student bursaries are open to all students registering during early bird period i.e. now until 18 November which cover the cost of registration plus one night accommodation in halls;
-  Travel bursaries are available for students and young postdocs studying at overseas labs to help cover cost of travel to UK. The deadline for applications is 31 October 2018;

CASP13. The Critical Assessment of protein Structure Prediction conference

computational and structural biology where new predictive methods are
tested without an a priori knowledge of the answers.
In the 2018 CASP13 experiment, over 57,000 predictions were collected on
90 protein targets. The conference will feature prediction assessment
talks, reports from the best predictors, and keynote presentations.

The keynote speakers represent two current areas of special interest in
CASP, machine learning /deep learning in structural biology and cryo-EM
driven modeling:
- David Koes (U Pittsburgh), is a pioneer in the application of convolutional neural networks to molecular docking
- Wah Chiu (Stanford), is a leader in cryo-electron microscopy.
CASP13 will be held December 1-4, 2018, at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya 5*
resort (destination airport is Cancun - CUN).

The 3rd Annual Conference of NEUBIAS, gathering the whole BioImage Analysis Community into a multi-faceted event, offers two parallel Training Schools for selected early career and advanced analysts and a Working Meeting (Taggathon) for invited taggers, which precede a Large Symposium dedicated to recent Scientific Developments and Open Tools in BioImage Analysis. Participation in the Symposium is open to all from academia and industry, where participants will be accepted until all spots are filled.
