XI National Crystallographic Congress / VII National Diffractometry Meeting

The Mexican Society of Crystallography will shortly host the XI National Congress of Crystallography and the VII National Meeting of Diffractometry. It is a fully face-to-face event and will take place in the Mineralogy Museum of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo. This meeting combines keynote speeches with short talks, poster sessions, a course, and a workshop.

Annual crystallographic Croatian-Slovenian and Slovenian-Croatian Crystallographic Meetings have been held regularly from 1992, with the exception of last two years when they was not held due to COVID-19 pandemia. 28th Croatian-Slovenian Crystallographic Meeting is organized jointly by the Croatian Crystallographic Association and Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana, and brings together chemists, physicists, biologists, mineralogists, geologists, pharmacists, metallurgists and other scientists. This meeting will take place in the town of Poreč, Istria. Due to its extraordinary geographical position, and natural and cultural beauties, today it is one of the strongest tourist centers in Croatia.

AFC 2021, there will be 16 sessions around thematic groups - biology, chemistry, physics, crystal growth, teaching, major instruments - of the AFC as well as the Earth sciences and all the interfaces between these disciplines. Three plenary conferences, workshops, poster sessions, as well as meetings and sessions with exhibitors are also planned. This AFC congress will also be the occasion for the presentation of the first “André Guinier†prize, thesis prizes and the holding of the general assembly.

BCA and BACG Joint Online Meeting 2021

We are delighted to announce that the spring meeting will be held online. The committees of both BCA and BACG decided that the 2021 Spring Meeting should be held as a virtual online conference, using an online conference platform where all the sessions will be available to view.
The joint Programme Team has developed a series of joint sessions on themes of common interest to BCA and BACG members focused on the areas of crystal engineering, crystal structure prediction and bio-mineralisation. The BACG organisation team has developed sessions on topics unique to the crystallisation community around the themes of nucleation, growth and industrial crystallisation. The BCA team has offered sessions themed around the sub-groups as usual.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the online meeting. A vibrant and dynamic programme has been pulled together which also includes opportunities for lively poster sessions, sponsor and exhibitor events, and sessions to allow for active networking and discussion. The programme reflects common interests, passion, enthusiasm for crystals, and crystallography within both organisations and the meeting will provide an opportunity to rekindle and reflect on the historical overlap between crystallisation and crystallography.
The BACG Organising Committee for 2021 is Dr Linda Seton, Dr Grahame Woollam and Prof Nick Blagden, and the BCA Programme Chair is Dr Tom Edwards.

Crystallography is a modern, interdisciplinary field of research and relevant for many innovations ranging from novel pharmaceuticals to new materials.
