Benefits of Membership
- Individuals can become an Associate of the IUCr on payment of a joining fee. The joining period is three years.
- Individual Associates are entitled to a package of benefits, including:
- A 20% discount on the fee when publishing an article in an open-access IUCr journal: IUCrJ, Journal of Synchrotron Radiation, Acta Crystallographica Section E and IUCrData.
- A lower fee, currently available to Associates, for publishing open access in the IUCr’s hybrid journals.
- Downloading of six free articles from Crystallography Journals Online.
- A 50% discount on the individual price of print copies of International Tables for Crystallography for personal use.
- Discounts on books from the IUCr and other publishers, including Wiley, CRC Press and Elsevier.
Fees
- 3-year full rate: USD 200
- 3-year student, retired scientist or developing country rate: USD 60
- VAT will be added where applicable.
Reduced-rate eligibility
- The student rate includes undergraduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers with up to three years’ experience.
- The retired scientist rate is available to individuals aged over 65 years who no longer have paid employment.
- The developing country rate is available to individuals from qualifying countries. When applying, select the category Full and then confirm which country you are from. You will then be able to pay at the reduced rate.
How to join
- To become an Individual Associate, you will need to sign in to your IUCr account or create one.
- If you are listed in the World Directory of Crystallographers, or have acted as a referee for the IUCr, you should already have an IUCr account.
