The VIII Meeting of the Latin American Crystallography Association (LACA) will be held jointly with the XXII Annual Meeting of the Argentine Crystallography Association (AACr) from 6 to 8 October 2027 in San Martín, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Hosted by ITECA, the meeting will bring together researchers, students and professionals from Latin America and the wider international crystallographic community.
The scientific programme will cover current developments in crystallography and structural science, with plenary and keynote lectures, thematic microsymposia and poster sessions. Topics will include structural biology, materials science, pharmaceuticals, quantum crystallography, synchrotron and neutron techniques, and related areas of structural research.
Two associated events will take place before the main meeting:
- 2nd Latin American Powder Diffraction Conference (LAPDiC 2027): 4–5 October 2027
- 5th Aldo Félix Craievich School on Conventional X-ray and Synchrotron Radiation Techniques for Materials Characterization: 27 September–1 October 2027
The Aldo Félix Craievich School will also serve as the 18th AACr School, providing early-career scientists with practical training and theoretical knowledge in key crystallographic and materials-characterisation methods. The school aims to support the development of the next generation of crystallographers in Latin America.
