Neutron scattering

On behalf of the ISIS and Diamond Crystallography Groups, the Physical Crystallography Group of the British Crystallographic Association and the Structural Condensed Matter Physics Group of the Institute of Physics we invite you to the Winter Crystallography Meeting to be held on 9th - 10th November 2026 at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire.

Registration is open now and both the abstract submission deadline and the meeting registration deadlines are Sunday 18th October.

Invited Speakers include:
Dr Ines Collings, Natural History Museum, London
Prof. Siân Dutton, University of Cambridge
Prof. John Evans, Durham University
plus the BTM Willis Prize Winner's Lecture

Please register here

The meeting is a celebration of structural science using neutron and/or X-ray diffraction and complementary techniques – we aim to put together a diverse program that includes something to interest everyone.  We particularly encourage students and early career researchers to contribute short (15 minute) talks in what is a very friendly and supportive environment. Spaces at the poster session will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The meeting is free to attend, however please note that the financial support we are able to offer this year is reduced:

  1. buffet lunches will be provided, however there will be no Meeting Dinner on the Monday evening
  2. accommodation places at either The Cosener's House or Ridgeway House will be allocated to those who are not local to the RAL site. Where applicable, transport between RAL and the accommodation will be provided on Monday morning & evening and on Tuesday morning

The meeting venue has limited space available so please register early to confirm your place.
